Potent Mugwort Soul Salve
This listing is for a potent, fragrant salve to connect you with the soul and healing power of Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris). Notice its deep green color as a way to gauge the strength; this is not your average Mugwort salve. Most aromatherapists agree that Mugwort's pure, distilled Essential Oil is not safe for topical use. Though, in Alchemy, the oil of a plant is known as its Soul: when we inhale the aroma of a medicinal herb, we're invited into a deep, intimate connection with the plant and its healing power. So, with this Salve, my intention was to make the most fragrant Mugwort Salve possible without using any Essential Oil.
To do this, I use a base of my potent Mugwort Soul Oil^, which is an extra-strength herbal oil created with a unique method of extraction. However, in knowing that I needed to dilute the oil with beeswax to make a salve, I double-infused the oil to make it even *more* potent. This leaves us with an incredibly fragrant, deep dark green Mugwort Salve. It contains only hand-gathered Wild Mugwort Leaves and Flowers, Organic Hudson Valley Sunflower Oil, Organic Arizona Jojoba Oil, and Local Hudson Valley Beeswax. These ingredients are the most local and best quality I can source. The Mugwort leaves come from my own garden, where I use only biodynamic and organic methods.

*If you're curious, my Soul Salves cost a little bit more than traditional salves because the double-infusion process uses twice the amount of herb, and a lot of oil is lost in the double-straining process. The extra potency makes it completely worth it!
(Note- sometimes, especially if skin is very dry, cracked, and not absorbing well, a little bit of green tint might remain from the salve. (This mainly happens with the hands.) You can think of the residual color like a nutritious face mask for your skin (with tons of chlorophyll & phytonutrients) that will eventually seep in. But if you prefer this not to happen, try moistening the hands slightly before applying for maximum absorption!)

Mugwort grows in wild places all around us- from roadside to forest's edge. Perhaps you've seen this plant, but it's gone unnoticed. So, Mugwort shows us how magic hides in the folds of the familiar. Its oil enables our dreams- a usual, nightly occurrence- to appear more vividly, in color and in memory. Thus we begin to acknowledge the power of our dreams and integrate them in the work of healing ourselves and aligning with our true potential.
Many people have strong experiences of increased psychic awareness and powerful visioning with this plant. PLEASE NOTE: Although I always try for a perfect pour, your salve may arrive with fine bubbles atop that might look like a slight film. This happens due to pouring at a cooler temperature. This is completely normal and the imperfection can simply be wiped away; the integrity and quality of the salve is not compromised!
