Here’s a simple yet potent salve that encapsulates the honeyed summertime of my Hudson Valley bioregion. It contains baskets full of my garden-grown Calendula flowers infused into local Sunflower oil and solidified with fragrant, New York beeswax. Three ingredients; nothing else. Yet it’s a power-house to rejuvenate the skin with a deep scent of summer, honey, and resin.
Please know— this is not your typical Calendula Salve! Like with all of my Soul Oils, I use a unique extraction method to infuse the base oil with as much potency and aroma as possible. Such a process enables whole plant compounds such as vitamins and polyphenols to be extracted in therapeutic doses. This is demonstrated by this salve’s deep orange color. That’s a mighty dose of beta-carotene that serves as nourishing food for the skin!
If you're curious, my Soul Salves cost a little bit more than traditional salves because the double-infusion process uses twice the amount of herb, and a lot of oil is lost in the double-straining process. The extra potency makes it completely worth it!

Slather anywhere that needs care. It is perfect for busy hands, the face, and keeping tattoos beautiful.
If using on the face, splash a little water on the face first and apply to moist skin. Moisture will help the salve absorb in deeply.
Sometimes, especially if skin is very dry, cracked, and not absorbing well, a little bit of orange tint might remain from the salve. (This mainly happens with the hands.) You can think of the residual color like a nutritious face mask for your skin (with tons of beta-carotene and phytonutrients) that will eventually seep in. But if you prefer this not to happen, try moistening the hands before applying for maximum absorption!
PLEASE NOTE: Although I always try for a perfect pour, your salve may arrive with fine bubbles atop that might look like a slight film. This happens due to pouring at a cooler temperature. This is completely normal and the imperfection can simply be wiped away; the integrity and quality of the salve is not compromised!
