Artemis - Herbal Body Oil - Organic, Wildcrafted
Featuring the Artemisian trio: Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris), Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), and Sweet Annie (Artemisia annua), all garden grown. This is a devotional oil, to devote the time you need for somatic care alongside a ritual of self-inquiry in communion with Artemis and your core self.
Physically, Artemisias bring warmth and relief to the body— like in the Chinese practice of moxibustion, which employs Mugwort— helping to move stagnant energy. Expect release and relief, which may invoke a wildness within that wants to shake, express, and dance. Embodying Artemis. But there is a depth that arises, whether that be questions probing into yourself, your purpose, and your relations to your wider community; or afterwards, during sleep, the coming of vivid dreams that offer cryptic nuggets of wisdom or realization. Or, dreams that help you confront what you need to move with, move through, move on.
The main action as I see it: Artemisias offer the clarity to reconnect us to our core selves. And they allow us to get clear by guiding us through the process of grieving and releasing what’s keeping us fogged, stagnant, or numb.
This is a potent infusion (at a 1:5 ratio of herb to oil), with strongest notes of Wormwood, a base of Mugwort, and a top note of Sweet Annie. I find it incredibly intoxicating, but if it’s too strong, you can always dilute. This is a small batch, and all I will offer until next Fall when I can harvest the more-limited Wormwood and Sweet Annie (hopefully) again.
